oh, july, you got me good. spent in and out of pool and heat, garden dirt under and over my feet, tomatoes at last, many a day, fans blowing, cold drinks flowing, zinnias and poppies and black eyed susans nodding.

i’m working on several big things right now, the first of which i’m just finishing: ten mobiles for a show next weekend at art & light. this was something of a last minute undertaking but i’m glad i said yes, it was very rewarding, even though there were a few days of kids unable to find clean underwear and lots of peanut butter sandwiches for kids and a sinkful of dirty dishes requiring filling the tea kettle in the bathtub just to make the coffee. and next is the indie craft parade, a mere six weeks away. i’ve a pile of things to panic about and finish for that, so the rest of the summer will surely be as the last month has been, full in the day, short in the night, writing in tweets alone, swimming along lola as she bobs in her floating vest from one end and back, long evenings with night coffees and streaming netflix and this american life and snipping away.
